Intense Pulse Light (IPL)

What is IPL?

Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) is a non-invasive procedure that uses short, gentle, adjustable pulses of light. The light is absorbed by color imperfections in the skin, which helps the body remove them. IPL therapy is generally safe for most people and has fewer side effects than other cosmetic treatments.

How does IPL work?

Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) therapy uses light energy to treat a variety of skin conditions.

What does IPL treat?

  • Skin tone and texture: IPL can improve skin tone and texture.
  • Pigmented lesions: IPL can treat sunspots, freckles, age spots, flat pigmented birthmarks, and other skin discoloration problems.
  • Vascular lesions: IPL can treat blood vessel problems, such as telangiectasias, port-wine stains, hemangiomas, and leg veins.
  • Unwanted hair: IPL can remove unwanted hair.
  • Photoaging: IPL can treat photoaging.

What should I expect?

The session may last 20–30 minutes. The treatment may sting a little and give you mild redness, bruising, swelling and flaking (depending on the treatment area) for 1-3 days post treatment.
